LUMIO STREAM / START HERE
Your first setup
Create the first administrator and add your collection.
Before you begin#
Use the native Administration app on the server Mac. Keep source drives mounted. First-run account creation is available only while the server is unconfigured; an already configured server presents sign-in instead.
Create the first administrator#
- Launch Lumio from Applications and wait for the engine to be ready.
- On setup, enter the requested username and password fields. Passwords require at least eight characters; complete confirmation where shown.
- Submit setup. The first account has administrator access.
- Follow the onboarding steps for connection and library setup. You can revisit the same settings later from the sidebar.
Do not create another server profile to recover a forgotten existing login. Use an existing administrator account and People & access.
Add the first library#
- Open Libraries and select the add-library control.
- Choose the media type and Display label.
- Use Choose folders or enter the actual physical folder paths on this Mac.
- Review library settings, then review the proposed changes before saving.
- Wait for the targeted scan. Overview and Background tasks show progress or errors.
Open the Media Center#
Use Open Media Center or the menu-bar browser action. Sign in with an existing permitted account, open a library, then open a title and press its play control. The default local address is http://127.0.0.1:3615; this address works on the server Mac only.
If setup cannot continue#
A drive must be readable by the account running Lumio. A port conflict is reported instead of silently changing the port. For an empty library, inspect scan status and source folder selection before adding the same folder repeatedly. Troubleshooting gives the next checks.
